Helping Your Tank Look Beautiful

World's oldest known fossils, now date back to 650 million years ago

The prior oldest known hard-bodied animals were reef-dwelling organisms called Namacalathus, which date to approximately 550 million years ago. Disputed remains for other possible soft-bodied animals date to between 577 and 542 million years ago.

The even more advanced age of the newly found sponge fossils provides direct evidence that animal life existed before the severe "Snowball Earth" event. The episode marked the end of Cryogenian Period 635 million years ago and left much of the globe covered in ice. Early sponges somehow managed to survive, perhaps in watery refuges around volcanic islands.

Important Aquarium Tips

In a Fish-Tank Emergency call us immediately at 972-423-0414.

If your aquarium equipment breaks, or the tank suddenly looks cloudy, call us.

Feeding your aquatic Animals

Don't let anybody feed your fish without your supervision! Only feed them what Aquatic Design recommends. Especially don't feed them human table food.

Putting Human Hands In The Fish's Water

Skin oils and other contaminates are naturally on our hands, especially from chemicals around the house. Always wash your hands and completely rinse the soap off using clean running water - your kitchen tap. Dry your hands with a paper towel, and then put your hands in the water. Make sure nobody puts their hands in the water without your permission.

Periodic Water Changes and Maintenance

Your fish-tank will remain beautiful and the water healthy for your fish if you change 10% of the tank's water every 10 days or 2 weeks. Or subscribe to our Aquatic Design Services let them do it for you. They will perform all the aquarium maintenance periodically. See our Services page. However, never use untreated tap water. Stop by our store and pickup industrially purified water especially for salt water tanks.

Aquarium Decorations and Aquatic Toys

Buy real or artificial plants and decorations carefully. Come to our store where we keep a record of what kind of tank you have and the types of animal in it. We're the guys that know your fish-tank!
